Senior Coordinator, EuroHealthNet, BELGIUM
Alison Maassen joined EuroHealthNet in September 2018 as Senior Coordinator. She supports the Director and Programme Manager in the development and implementation of EuroHealthNet’s operational objectives. She is responsible for overseeing EuroHealthNet’s business plan and programming to ensure timely delivery of outputs and deliverables, as well as managing the organisation’s operational grant.
Alison contributes to membership recruitment and retention activities, country exchange visits, and General Council meetings and leads the development and implementation of EuroHealthNet’s European Solidarity Corps placement programme. Alison brings significant experience in project and association management to EuroHealthNet, as well as experience in designing and implementing health promotion interventions at the community level. Prior to joining EuroHealthNet, she worked extensively in the field of immunisation, serving as Programme Manager for the Network for Education and Support in Immunisation at the University of Antwerp, and as a founding member of the Secretariat for the International Association of Immunization Managers at the Sabin Vaccine Institute in Washington DC.
Alison holds an MSc in Public Health (Health Promotion) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, as well as a BA in International Affairs and Anthropology from The George Washington University in Washington DC. She has worked at the global and (sub)national level with policymakers, health professionals, community leaders, researchers, and other stakeholders from regions as diverse as Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and Southeast Asia.
