Join Our Survey to Assess the RSV Burden in Primary Care and Private Practice Settings
With the onset of the RSV season, our attention turns to the pressures hospital facilities and intensive care units face. However, the significant burden of bronchiolitis and pneumonia resulting from RSV infections in infants and young children within primary care settings remains less understood. To effectively design and implement comprehensive prevention policies, it is crucial to understand the full scope of RSV's impact, not only on our hospitals but also on primary care providers and private practice pediatricians, who often face intense challenges during this time.
The Excellence in Pediatrics Institute has initiated a survey targeting our network of frontline pediatricians. We aim to assess the burden on healthcare providers, families, and patients, understand the practices followed, and identify necessary interventions to enhance prevention. Furthermore, we aim to monitor and compare this season's trends with those of previous seasons based on firsthand accounts from those who encounter these cases at the outset.
Survey Focus:
- Assessing the Burden: Determine the overall impact of RSV on primary care providers and the families they serve.
- Understanding Practices: Learn about current treatment strategies and their effectiveness.
- Identifying Preventive Needs: Pinpoint the gaps in prevention and the interventions required to address them.
- Monitoring Trends: Compare this season’s RSV trends with previous years to track progress and emerging challenges.
Why to participate:
- Shape Future Strategies: Your experiences will inform broader RSV management and prevention strategies.
- Early Access to Findings: Participants will receive an advance look at the insights gathered, which will be discussed in detail at the upcoming 9th Lifecourse Immunisation Meeting in Barcelona.
- Recognition: Responders will be invited to participate in the various educational activities of EIP
We urge you to join us in this important initiative by completing the survey before 5 November 2024. Your input is crucial in shaping the strategies to combat RSV effectively. Thank you for taking the time to share your views.
