HEALTH SYSTEMS RESILIENCE AND PREPAREDNESS - LIFE COURSE VACCINATION STRATEGIES

Health System Resilience and Preparedness has never been more important, both to prepare for the present situation and for future pandemics and outbreaks. The Working Group will look at the practical strategies to establish the evidence that vaccination for all ages against all vaccine-preventable diseases is the best route to reduce unnecessary hospitalisations, minimise the danger of other disease outbreaks and to build community immunity against all vaccine-preventable diseases. Protecting the vulnerable members of society, by protecting all members of society (as has become clear from COVID-19 vaccine rollout prioritisation across Europe) is critical in allowing the health system to build up its capacity, protect precious resources and stay focused to address pandemics. The Working Group has been running since 2015 and has a renewed importance and relevance in the current climate.

SUGGESTED ACTIONS AND CAMPAIGNS 2021/22

Based on all the work and collaboration between the Working Groups, both in the Expert mapping surveys and the Working Groups that took place in 2020, the reports include Observations, Challenges, Strategies and Suggested Campaigns/Actions for each barrier or observation.

Working alongside partners and supporters we will then tackle as many areas and conduct as many proposed actions as possible to overcome barriers to vaccination uptake.
